As part of my journey to gain the CCNP ENCOR I was having some difficulty in finding a good multicast example. So I created my own and shared them for learning purposes. The videos below will help you to create a multicast lab to gain a deeper understand and practical understanding of a multicast configuration.

Multicast Demo (Part 1)

Multicast demonstration in GNS3. Displays how the Server and Receiver are connected in GNS3. Demonstration shows how the Server is configured to send the stream and how the Receiver is configured to receive the stream. Some troubleshooting to ensure that the configuration works and show some problems you may experience.

Multicast Demo (Part 2)

Demonstration showing a Multicast Server streaming through a Cisco Router to a Receiver.
Some Wireshark captures to help you see whats happening in the background.
Router commands and VLC media configuration.

Multicast Demo (Part 3)

This demonstration shows a multicast stream being delivered to two receivers on different subnets through a OSPF routing topology. I show the way clients are configured to send and receive the multicast stream and show the commands that are necessary on the routers.

Multicast Demo (Part 4)

This demonstration show a IPv6 configured multicast stream being delivered to a receiver on a different subnet by utilizing multicast addresses through a OSPFv3 routing topology.
I show how to configure the multicast server with a IPv6 multicast address and show how the receiver is setup to receive the stream.
The demonstration also shows a run through of a router and a helpful command to use to ping multiple addresses at to aid topology connectivity confirmation (tclsh).
